The foldable market is evolving swiftly, with indications pointing towards substantial advancements for leading foldable brands in 2024, as per recent leaks and rumors.
The Motorola Razr is set to enhance its iconic foldable design with an even larger cover screen
Motorola is set to make waves with its upcoming Razr 50 lineup, slated for release as early as June 2024. Following the success of the Razr 40 Ultra, which addressed previous form factor issues with its 3.6-inch cover screen, the Razr 50 Ultra aims to raise the bar even higher. Leaks suggest it will feature an expansive 4-inch cover display, enhancing usability and offering a premium aesthetic unmatched in the foldable market.
Accompanying the larger screen are rumored hardware upgrades, including a dual 50MP camera setup, improved water resistance, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, and AI-enhanced photo and video editing tools. Meanwhile, the regular Razr 50 model is set to receive a significant upgrade with a similar OLED cover screen, vegan leather finish, and new color options, positioning it as a compelling choice in the mid-range foldable segment.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is poised to receive a more refined appearance
In parallel developments, Samsung is refining its Galaxy Z Fold 6 with slimmer bezels and squared-off corners, resembling the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Z Fold 6 retains its predecessor’s screen dimensions but promises a more polished design for improved usability. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 6 is expected to debut with upgraded cameras, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and a larger battery, maintaining its iconic design with incremental improvements.

The Google Pixel Fold 2 Could Fix Everything
more advanced foldables like the OnePlus Open and Honor Magic V2, which had already set a high bar in the industry. The Pixel Fold felt bulky, heavy, and its relatively small cover screen and thick internal bezels were disappointing. Compounding these issues were compatibility problems with apps, all while carrying a hefty £1,749 price tag.
However, hopes are high for the upcoming Pixel Fold 2—or Pixel 9 Fold, depending on the source—as leaks suggest significant improvements are on the horizon.
In early February, leaked images surfaced showcasing an early prototype of the Pixel Fold 2. These images revealed a taller and narrower cover screen, along with a redesigned camera housing that promises a more premium feel compared to its predecessor. Sources indicate the device feels noticeably slimmer and more refined.
Further detailed renders from reliable sources like OnLeaks and SmartPrix have reinforced these expectations, depicting a redesigned cover screen with slimmer bezels and the potential inclusion of an under-screen camera on the foldable display. Leaks also suggest the cover screen will increase in size to 6.4 inches, up from 5.8 inches, while the foldable screen will expand to 7.9 inches, up from 7.6 inches. The Pixel Fold 2 is expected to measure a mere 5.27mm when unfolded, down from 5.8mm, and 10.54mm when folded, down from 12.1mm.
The revamped camera housing deviates from the typical Pixel design, promising a sleeker profile. With other major players in the foldable market—such as Honor, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, and Huawei—also pushing boundaries, 2024 looks poised to be a transformative year for foldable technology.
